1:29 am - Political nuts
I just wonder what the *bleep* is up with all these political nutjobs out there. Screaming about a birth certificate? Claiming that we'll fall into the depths of socialism and the biggest losers of all are these twits starting arguments in townhall meetings.

What the hell ever happened to rational debate with valid points and counter points???

Here is some great fuel to some fires, we're will never be a true socialist society, a socialist society has a very small if non existent government to manage resources. Which unless DC becomes a ghost town than the likely hood of this happening is nil. The very worst is that we'll become a communist state like the USSR (Oh noes that would be bad)

ugh, sleep good....

In short, folks take the time to stop and think before you spew those words out of your mouth.

In belated rants: Those kids who were kicked out of the swimming pool, ok I understand the racism part... but what the *extended bleeps* was with the producer taking all the kids to Disney Land??!! "Its a nice treat for the kids, and a massive ego / publicity boost for me"

Ugh, I need sleep.

Of course these are my opinions, I could be wrong.

2:16 am - Random Thoughts
I've gotten to like Pandora a lot. Its nice to be able to get access to all sorts of music. I really need to read up on its recommendation engine... it makes odd leaps of logic at times.

Work is kicking my arse, we have a deadline that management is desperate to hit, we're on track yet they are still.... reactive to the situation.

Little One is getting bigger every day, she's getting better at talking. And she's learned the joys of temper tantrums. Which while in public we'll try and calm her down quickly, in private its almost humorous to watch. She was throwing one the other day while Cindy was away, I watched her kick and scream in her room, then when I was sure she was going to be ok i walked over to the kitchen and started working on dinner. She becomes quiet for a minute, then I catch her walking around looking for me. Once she sees me she walks into our beroom and then proceeds to lay down on the floor and start to cry again... she briefly stops and wiggles herself to get into a more comfortable position.

And even more fun I'm now taking 3 separate meds that you must 'take with food' And they are not kidding when they say that... you have a small window of delay, but after that your day goes to shit literally.

Ed McMahon passed away, alas we are now getting to be that age where all our childhood heroes are starting to pass away. Makes me kinda sad. I think that I'm going to become one of those old people who fondly remembers the 'olden' days. Then again I'd love to find a good site for all the classic radio plays, Jack Benny, The Bickersons, Fibber McGee & Molly. Someday if time travel is possible, I'm going to be heading back then with a good recorder and listen to all the good shows.

I said it was random, now where did Rochester go?

And remember LSMFT!

11:03 am - Things to do in Vegas

Ugh, ending my 2 weeks out here pretty soon. But here is a small token of advise to as to what to do while in Vegas.

Free Stuff

  • The Freemont Street Experiance:
    • The light shows at night are very entertaining and impressive for their scale.
    • Lots of street vendors and artists (Even on a Tuesday Night)
    • Can find cheaper tables at some of those casino's
    • Drinks are a bit cheaper
    • Great place to people watch
  • The Bellagio:
    • The water show is always impressive (Hint: Don't stand downwind)
    • The Gardens inside the lobby are usually astounding
  • The Mirage:
    • Catch the volcano from several sides
    • The fish tank behind the registration desk
  • The Venetian:
    • Take a stroll through their shopping plaza (Tis all I'm going to say)
  • MGM Grand:
    • They got the lions ;-)
  • Tresaure Island:
    • The Pirate Show (Still haven't seen the blasted thing yet)
  • Rio
    • Show in the Sky
  • Sights to take in:
    • The Venetian (Outside & Inside)
    • The Excalibur (Outside)
    • The Luxor (Inside)
    • Sams Town (Inside)
    • The Strip at Night

Costly Stuff: (Try and find the bargain tickets)

  • Any of the Circ de Soleil shows
  • Bodies @ The Luxor
  • The Titanic Exhibit @ The Luxor
  • Top of the Stratosphere
  • Top of the Eiffel Tower
  • The Carnaval World Buffett at the Rio

Places to eat:

  • Ellis Island & Casino
  • Black Bear Cafe
  • Chipotle
  • NOT Most Places along the Strip (Unless you have a big food budget!)

If you can drive:

·          Hoover Dam (about 1/2 a day there)

·          Grand Canyon (A LONG full day)

·          Bryce Canyon & Zion (A LONG full day)

All in all it has been a long two weeks especially with the class trying to cram about a months worth of knowledge into two weeks.

I’ll be glad to get on the plane tomorrow and get home. Pix, maybe upon getting home and resting for a while.

11:27 pm - Random update
Sylvana is 7 1/2 months old, and she's started crawling.

Its astounding to see her change from day to day.

We were just at AMA, which was different... they had invaded the old NekoCon hotel at the HIEC. It was odd to see a different event in what I used to call the home for my con. Oh well, I was there to pimp Neko, and that's what I did. I also spent several hours relaxing with Cindy and Sylvana at the pool, it was nice to attend an event and not have to worry about anything.

Had a good time showing off Sylvana to Chris and Greg. Thinking of Greg....the boy needs a vacation, badly. Hmmm I'm almost tempted to see if some of the other con chairs would be willing to chip in a few bucks here and there.

Other than that, work has been on going, its been interesting watching the senior management mushroom. We'll see where this leads. (3 years before the big move)

That's all for now. I'll see if I can update this abit more regularly again.

Til next time.

1:08 pm - Bruger Joint
Ok for all the folks on the coast... I'm looking for a good burger joint, something where when you tell the chef you want your burger rare it comes out mooing or you see the chef pull out a steak and start grinding.

I'm trying to find something other than Fudruckers and Red Robin.

Ideas? Something like this?
